CLUB FANTASTIC TOUR 1983

 Wham!'s first ever tour started on Sun 09 Oct 1983 Capitol Center- Aberdeen- Scotland and ended succesfully on Tue 29 Nov 1983 Hammersmith Odeon - London.Sponsored by Fila sportswear the boys popped shuttlecocks down their shorts in a rather bizarre ritual of sexuality.
 

 

THE BIG TOUR 1984

Wham!'s second major tour started on Tue 04 Dec 1984  at Ice Rink- Witley Bay and followed through to londons Wembley Arena Thu 27 Dec 1984.Having had to briefly reschedule a few shows due to Georges bad back the tour carried on into 1985 culminating in shows in japan and australia before ending in the much publicised trip to china which ended Wed 10 Apr 1985 Canton- China.

 

 

WHAMAMERICA TOUR 1985

The Whamamerica Tour hit the usa Fri 23 Aug 1985 Music Theatre - Pplular- Creek- IL/USA and ended Tue 10 Sep 1985 The Pontiac Silverdome- Detroit- MI/USA.

A huge stadium tour that included the unveiling of the brand new Wham! track "The Edge Of Heaven"

 

 

 

LIVE AID 1985

George Michael appeared with Andrew Ridgeley onstage at Wembley Stadium on 13th July 1985.

Goerge sang "Dont let the sun go down on me" with Elton john while Ridgeley joined Kiki Dee in the row of backing singers.

 

 

 

THE FINAL CONCERT 1986

George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley announced the breakup of Wham! in the spring of 1986.

A farewell single and album were followed by a grand finale concert at Wembley Stadium on 28th June 1986 attended by 72,00 adoring fans. Aptly entitled "The Final" ... George announced onstage that this was to be his most important concert he would ever play.

 

 

THE FAITH TOUR 1988

George Michael embarked on his massive sold out world tour in 1988.

Starting february 19th in tokyo the tour travelled the world taking in the Uk and Europe as well as Japan/USA/Australia New Zealand and Canada before ending up playing for the King of Spain in Barcelona on July 6, 1989.

 

 

NELSON MANDELA TRIBUTE 1988

In June, George interrupted the Faith tour to sing three songs at Wembley Stadium's Nelson Mandela Freedom Concert.

 

 

CONCERT OF HOPE 1990

Benefit concert for The Royal Trust of The Princess of Wales, featuring singers George Michael, k d lang, and Mick Hucknall, and hosted by David Bowie.Held at Londons Wembley arena on 1st December.

 

 

 

COVER TO COVER 1992

In 1991 George embarked on the Cover to Cover tour - taking in the UK /Brazil /Japan/Canada and the Usa.

The show was made up of old Wham!/George Michael classics and cover versions of popular favourites from Georges past.The hugely succesful "Rock In Rio 2" shows saw George play to his largest audience yet and included a guest appearance on a few numbers by old bandmate Andrew Ridgeley.

 

 

FREDDIE MERCURY TRIBUTE 1992

Held at Wembley Stadium on Easter Monday 20th April 1992.Televised live worldwide to an estimated audience of 1.2 Billion viewers.The concert was a tribute to the life of the late great Freddie Mercury,with all the proceeds going to Aids research.

Georges performance was the higlight of the show.

 

 

 

NET AID CONCERT.

Held at Wembley Stadium on 9th October 1999.

NetAid, featured Unicef children's ambassador Robbie Williams, George Michael, the Fugees and Sheryl Crow, was the biggest charity gig since LiveAid.

 

 

25LIVE - ARENAS

Started in Barcelona on the 23rd September 2006 almost 15years since the last time he played on a live stage.A vast electronic stage filled the Palau st Jordi arena to a crowd of eagerly awaiting fans.Culminating in a host of UK and European venues the tour wrapped up at Wembley arena on the 17th December 2006.

 

 

 

25LIVE - NURSES ONLY SHOW.

Held at The Roundhouse in London this show was a thank you to the nurses that looked after Georges mother through her battle with cancer.Friends and family as well as 2000 nurses filled the small vanue for an evening of songs from the 25LIVE tour.

 

 

 

25LIVE - STADIUMS

After the huge success of the arena tour George decided to grace us all once again with a huge stadium tour around Europe.With the hugely publicised opening concert at the new Wembley Stadium George also treated his fans to a tv special "The Road To Wembley".The tour ended with 3 fantastic shows indoors in irelend.

 

 

 

25LIVE - USA

Once again George has enjoyed the last tour and decided he would grace the USA with his pressence.Starting in San Diego and ending triumphantly in Fort Lauderdale Florida.

 

 

25LIVE - THE FINALS

On his return from the hugely succesful tour of the USA George gave his fans the ultimate experience of 3 final shows to end the 25LIVE Tour.Earls Court London staged the first of 2 final shows which were filmed and realeased later on dvd.The final show was in Copenhagen Denmark but then amazingly George added a FINAL FINAL in AbuDhabi weeks later.

 

 

GEORGE MICHAEL LIVE - AUSTRALIA

George decided that Australia would host the latest tour dates .... Just a few dates were added and then change of venue but all in all the shows went down a storm.With an absence of 22years Australia would have welcomed George singing the alphabet.
